Key of Dreams: News
!Happy Birthday Key of Dreams! - November 6, 2007
We're celebrating two Birthdays today, Abe's and the band. I think Abe can now legally drink :-), and Key of Dreams is four years old. It was on this day (4 years ago) Abe & Eric first played guitar together after meeting down at the old Manila blues jam in Tigard. We thank you all for your support and look forward to another great year.
Recent stuff...
In print: We have a nice live-show review in this months' issue of Positively Entertainment and Dining. We are featured as the "Artist You Should Know" in the current Music Spectator (hits the street on Saturday.) We also have a mention in this month's Northwest Jazz Profile.
On the radio: We've been heard on OPB "Eclecticity with David Christensen" (91.5 FM) and on Radio Tierra (95.1 FM in Hood River.) Please, call and request us.
On TV: We did a short 5-song set for Ethos Live on local cable TV.
Booking: We've signed on with three local booking agencies; Northwest Artist Management, Pacific Talent, and Celebration Music. We'll see what happens....
Music licensing: We signed with two music-licensing firms, Imaginary Friends Music Partners (Santa Monica CA) and Seek Out Records (Arlington VA.) These companies license music for use in Film and TV.
A 4th member? Rumor has it there could be another KOD band member soon. We'll be doing some playing with Kirk Bryant on acoustic and electric bass later this month to see what develops.
We hope to see you at one of our shows during the remainder of the year and wish everyone a happy and safe holiday season.
Thanks for listening!

New gig in town - September 14, 2007
Thank you all for your support over the past summer months. We’ve been playing many outdoor shows and though we love playing outside, we’re moving it back inside for the fall/winter season.
We’re starting a new gig in town this Thursday night and would love to have your support there. It’s at Wilf’s Restaurant and Bar, one of Portland’s most elegant jazz establishments. We’ll be playing as a trio with Doug from 7:30 to 10:30 PM. There’s no cover charge, free parking, great food and drinks (Abe and I had Spanish coffees there last night… nice), its smoke free, and a great place to hear live jazz.
Please come out to listen if you can, we would love to make this a regular gig and with your support, we will.
Hope to see you there:
Eric, Abe, and Doug
Turn up the heat - July 12, 2007
It’s summer and things are heating up at the Key of Dreams camp. Our new CD "unlocked" has been getting many good words of praise and interest from industry folks (radio, booking agencies, film & TV licensing, and local venues - more details on this stuff soon) and from our friends and fans, THANK YOU!
We’ve had a few comments like “these three invisible guys sure sound smooth” and “I can’t see who these guys are, but I like their sound.” Yes, I know only a silhouette photo. Next Saturday Dmitri Von Klein will photograph us down in Eugene and the new images will be posted one week later.
Abe and Eric are finally walking without limps, canes, or crutches following their ACL knee reconstruction surgeries. No more pain, no more drugs – yippee! "Sometimes it’s the simple things in life that are the best, like just walking around aimlessly."
Doug returned from Guatemala and Mexico with a bunch of interesting stories. If you see him at one of our shows, ask him about it. We’ll be playing or first gig together again tomorrow night, it’s a wine tasting party on the patio at the Mad Greek in Hillsboro.
We have a bunch of shows (some at new venues for us) around town and hope you can come out to catch our new songs, those from the CD, as well as some of our oldies to boot.
Hope your summer is full of fun and that we’ll see you soon.
Be happy and healthy.
Eric, Abe, & Doug
Hello Key of Dreams fans... - May 15, 2007
Well as some of you know this month is going to be a very busy one for Eric and Abe. The BIG news is that our new CD "Unlocked” is now available. Eric, Doug and Abe could not be more excited about this release, it’s been a long year of hard work (mostly for Eric) and we're just glad that we finally have something to show for it. We also have a NEW website and myspace page to coincide with the release of this CD.
The other big new this month is that both Eric and Abe will be undergoing knee reconstruction surgery from separate incidence that we sustained (Abe on his motorcycle, Eric on his skis.) This will give us some down time to help promote the CD, practice, play, and write new material. We hope to be up and around soon so we can get out there and start playing again.
Hope to see and hear from you all soon!
Abe…
New CD - May 15, 2007
We’re pleased to announce our new CD “Unlocked” is now available. We took a long time to finish it but we’re happy with the results and here it is. It was recorded over the last year in our little studio above Eric’s garage. All 14 tracks feature classical acoustic guitars. Abe played his electric “Blacky” on a few tracks; Eric played steel string on a few and his12 string on one. Doug played Cajon, congas, bongos, various percussion, and just about anything he could get his hands on. Listen carefully and you’ll hear him playing an empty “Sobe” bottle!
You can hear samples of each song, purchase downloads of individual tracks, or purchase the physical CD here on our website. We’ll also have CDs available at all our live shows.
If you like what you hear, please spread the word.
Thanks for listening!
